Detailed Itinerary of the 5 days Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Wake up to a delicious breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala and be picked by our company representative for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey lasts between 6 and 7 hours and involves using the Kampala-Masaka road with an en-route stopover at the Uganda Equator for photography. Continue with the journey until Mbarara Town for lunch at Agip Motel.
Later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through the verdant and cool Bushenyi district known for vast tea plantations and cool air and arrive the hot Kasese district then finally to the Park in the later afternoon. Check-in at the Lodge to freshen-up and if not fatigued head for an evening game drive. This introduces you to the nocturnal wildlife of the Park such as the spotted hyenas, lions, leopards as well as other wildlife resting for the day.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel
In the morning after a sumptuous breakfast enjoy a game drive through the endowed northern sector of the Park (known as Kasenyi plains) in search for the Uganda Kobs, Elephants, leopards, Common elands, Defassa waterbucks, lions and buffaloes. As you slowly drive along the popular Kasenyi track expect to encounter big herds antelopes and many other wildlife species.
After 3-4 hours of the game drive, return to the lodge for a hot lunch before undertaking a relaxing launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel from 2:00 pm. This unforgettable activity will bring you closer to a plethora of wetland, migrant and aquatic bird species, giant Hippos, Nile Crocodiles as well as large herds of buffaloes, elephants and antelopes among others. At 5:00 pm return to the lodge for your dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
After breakfast check-out of the Safari Lodge for a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of tree climbing lions. It takes about 45-60 minutes to drive from Mweya to Ishasha Gate. Once the sunshine becomes hotter, the lions begin climbing fig trees as they seek shelter in the tree branches from the scorching sunshine and relaxing after a night and morning feast on the antelopes. You will therefore arrive on time to enjoy a sight of these magnificent tree climbing lions and later continue until Savannah Hotel for a hot lunch and later proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Tracking and evening cultural tour.
Wake up very early in the morning for your breakfast and then move or be driven (depending on location of the Safari Lodge) to the Park Headquarters. Be briefed by the Park ranger before starting the invigorating gorilla trek at 8:00 am. Gorilla tracking is a strenuous exercise but ranked among Africa’s top rewarding wildlife experiences. The time is taken to find their allocated gorilla family ranges from 30 minutes to several hours depending on their movement in the jungle. On sighting them, spend one hour and return to the Lodge for a hot meal.
In the evening undertake a cultural tour within the nearby Batwa communities where you will be amazed by how interesting they live their simple lives. Enjoy some of the prepared activities that include traditional dances, watching them make fire out of sticks and also learn about the plants that are used as traditional medicine among others. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

It takes 8-9 hours driving from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Entebbe while only 3-4 hours’ drive to Kigali international airport.
