RIVER NILE IN UGANDA

Uganda is gifted with River Nile which is really a great Centre for adventurous experience. This means that if one is seeking for pure relaxation, water rafting, bungee jumping and a chance to complete de-stress, then just take a tour to Jinja and have a cruise on the River Nile. River Nile is well known to be the longest river in the world with its source starting right from Jinja-Uganda. Its history, nature, features and various interesting activities make it so interesting and worth to visit while in Uganda for a trip.

Some people may be wondering how the name Nile came about but it is a Greek word simply meaning valley. It starts from the Northeastern part of Africa and flows from the surrounding areas close to equator to outrageous safari dessert and up to the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The Nile River is about 6696km long and pours its water to over nine countries although it’s more centered to Uganda as well as Egypt.

This famous longest river comprises of two major twigs, the white and Blue Nile that connects in Khartoum to form the core Nile made up of Cataract Nile along with Egyptian Nile. The White Nile is the longest and splits into three parts; the lake plateau region, the sudd, the central Sudan region. The River is an ideal place for so many activities such as water rafting, Bungee Jumping, Kayaking, cruising, boat rides as well as spot fishing which are so interesting and exciting. While you are at the source of River Nile, you get to know that Uganda is really the pearl of Africa and taking a Nile cruise is the best way to catch a closer glimpse of the Nile where you can see all hidden beauty of different countries and have exciting experience.

River Nile has its source in Lake Victoria in Jinja town commonly known as the East African adventurous city where one visits and leaves with unforgettable memories or returning desires. It has falls like Owen Falls; Bujagali falls in Jinja which are attractive and ideal for hiking. A tour to the Nile takes you through another life of adventure. There is a golf course unwinding along the banks and the source of the Nile provides a pretty focal point to the flow of water from Lake Victoria’s only outlet. A boat ride out to Samuka Island is another trip of itself, not counting the beautiful fauna you will see along.

Nile River brings you to Adrift Nile High Camp with various activities including Bungee jump etc. and  Bujagali Falls, the adventurer’s capital with grade-five white water rafting, kayaking, river boarding and mountain-biking which offer a unique way to explore the river banks, passing though farms, forests and villages beside the Nile thus unique experience.
